This route is located from south east of Mount Kilimanjaro and beginnings with short drive from Moshi town to Marangu gate. This Is the oldest and well-established route with its nickname of Coca-Cola route which derived from the fact of being the only route people sleep in the hut instead of tents as other route. Marangu route is considered as the easiest route on Mount Kilimanjaro due to its gradual slope, although in the real fact should not be considered as the fact of truth and despise the necessary required preparation.
This route has its own test of adventure, scenery, and challenge and in contrary to other route, it offers a comfort sleep in the shared mountain hut with solar light and comfortable sponge mattress. The uniqueness of the route is that it is the only route where client will get time to visit Zebra rocks located close to mawenzi peak. The trek uses the same route for hiking up and down and offer a great view and panoramic vistas. This hike can be climbed in five days, although at we as Kiliwings Expedition we recommend a 6 days hike with better acclimatization at Horombo hut with Zebra rock visit.
Price Inclusion
- Return transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport to accommodation in Moshi;
- Return transfer from accommodation in Moshi to the entry gate into Kilimanjaro National Park.
- All park fees collected by Kilimanjaro National Park (conservation fees, camping fees, crew fees, vehicle fee, rescue fee and all others).
- Accommodation at your chosen hotel, one night before and one night after the expedition. You will have all for a comfortable stay – friendly staff, clean rooms, Wi-Fi, restaurant and swimming pool;
- Tented accommodation on Mount Kilimanjaro (modern comfortable 4-season tents)
Please note: by default, you will share a room and a tent with your travel companion. If you travel solo on a group expedition, we will room you with a same-sex participant. Single supplement is available upon request.
- Breakfast in the hotel before and after the hike;
- All meals on the hike. You will find delicious energy-rich meals on our mountain menus. Our professional chefs will prepare assorted soups, garnishes, several types of fish and meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. Vegetarian/gluten-free/halal options are available at no extra cost;
- All drinks on the hike (coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water).
- 4-inch (10-cm) thick and comfortable sleeping mats;
- All group equipment (crockery and cutlery);
- Oxygen cylinders and oximeters;
- Complete medical kits including Diamox.
- Professional guides licensed by Kilimanjaro National Park. All guides are holder of Wilderness First Responder c All of them have 5+years of successful experience;
- Dedicated support crew (assistant guides, camp master, porters, cooks, etc.).
