DAY 1: ARRIVAL ARUSHA

Approximately 55 kms, takes approximately 1.5 hours’ drive depending on traffic

Here, Kiliwings Expedition guide/driver will warmly meet you on arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer you to Arusha. Check-in at the Mount Meru Hotel. Enjoy overnight as you wait to begin your Safari in Tanzania. You are booked in Standard room on bed & breakfast.

ABOUT MOUNT MERU HOTEL

DAY 2: From Arusha-Lake Manyara Trip

Approximately 125kms takes approximately 2.5 hours’ drive

Our guide driver will pick you from the hotel after breakfast; proceed to the Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing drives. This park is one of the best for bird lovers because of the abundance and variety of species with over 300 migratory birds including flamingoes, long-crested eagles and grey-headed kingfisher. Lake Manyara National Park provides a unique wilderness experience. Including diverse landscapes such as the Rift Valley soda lake, open grasslands, dense woodlands and stunning mountainsides. Tree-climbing lion and long-tusked elephant, Masai Giraffe, herds of buffalo, zebra and wildebeest graze are some of the wildlife I the park. Later drive to the Manyara Wildlife Camp for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Manyara Wildlife Camp

Manyara Wildlife Camp lies along the 600-meter Rift Valley Escarpment over the river basin overlooking the lake itself. Our accommodations and infinity swimming pool are built right at the edge of the escarpment and provide unparalleled views of the region. The camp is divided into cabins and safari tents, offering visitors a range of options for accommodations.

10 luxury tents with lake view, 8 cottages with garden view, and 8 cottages with lake view. The setting of the tents and cottages allows our guests to have an open experience of a wilderness camp. Each tent and cottages are identical in design and amenities offered. The tents and cottages are designed to have a traditional roofing of “Nyasi.” The interior wall partitions separate the bathroom, which offers both hot & cold showers and the bedroom area which is fitted with a king- size or twin or triple bed flanked by twin side tables with lamps. Furniture’s are traditional and obtrusive, imitating the traveling camps of old.

DAY 3: Manyara to Serengeti National Park

Approximately 125kms takes approximately 2.5 hours’ drive

Enjoy breakfast then we drive you via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti National Park with a brief stop at the Oldupai museum. Enjoy and route game viewing drives to the Acacia Central Camp for check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy breakfast then depart with packed lunch for a full day of game viewing drives. The vast Serengeti plains is home to hundreds of wildlife species including the elusive leopard, cheetah, spotted hyenas, Masai giraffes, cape buffalo, lions, the migratory wildebeests, hartebeests among many others. You can catch the wildebeest migration through-out the year in the Serengeti at different locations as they follow an almost predictable pattern and route on the migration circuit. Enjoy dinner ad overnight at the Acacia Central Camp.

ABOUT ACACIA CENTRAL CAMP

Acacia Central Camp, as the name suggests, is situated in the central part of Serengeti which is fondly called Seronera. This is a very scenic area with open plains and lined up with hills. What’s great about this area is that the diversity of wildlife is amazing and a lot of animals stay here all throughout the year. The migration passes through here in April/May, but Seronera is within reach of both the Southern Plains and the Western Corridor so from about November to June, it can be used as a base to see the migration.

DAY 5: Serengeti National Park- Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Approximately 170kms, takes approximately 4 hours’ drive

Enjoy breakfast then depart with packed lunch. Morning game viewing drives towards South Serengeti. Exit the park through the Naabi gate ad proceed to Ngorongoro. Check-in at the Ngorongoro Farm House. Enjoy dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Enjoy breakfast the depart withy packed lunch. Descend some 610 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for game viewing drives. The 20km diameter crater floor has one of the highest wildlife per service area concentration. In the crater floor are burchell’s zebras, leopard, cheetah, Cape buffalo, water bucks, hartebeests, spotted hyenas, and savannah elephant among others. There are no giraffes in the crater due to the short shrubs that pose a challenge to the giraffes feeding. We later drive up the crater floor, back to the Ngorongoro Farm House for dinner and overnight.

ABOUT NGORONGORO FARM HOUSE

Live the legendary atmosphere of past times on a colonial style coffee plantation farm house. Hand plaited thatched roof tops, ample verandas and colonial interiors at Ngorongoro Farm House, a small and exclusive hotel built on a 500-acre coffee plantation, all of which has been designed to take you to the comfort and style of past times. Take a walk around the farm to contemplate the daily activities, relax in the fragrant gardens or enjoy the spectacular sunsets with the Oldeani volcano as a backcloth.

A wonderful stop-off during a safari on the north circuit of Tanzania and a privileged place from where one can visit the crater or enjoy activities such a walking safari to the volcano or excursions to Lake Eyasi on the Rift Valley still inhabited by the Hadzabe tribe.
